NATHAN'S BIO

Nathan Cooper is the son of Jeff and Kim Cooper.  His father Jeff is an American Baptist pastor in Ohio. He also is currently teaching high school drama at the Columbus Arts and College Preparatory Academy.  His mother Kim serves as a teacher’s aid in a special need pre-school class at Ben Franklin Elementary School in Newark, OH.  Nathan also has a younger sister, Gretchen, who is currently a freshman at Bethel College in Mishawaka, IN, where she is studying International Studies with an emphasis in Ministry with hopes of one day becoming an American Baptist missionary to Latin America.

As the son of a pastor, Nathan has grown up in the church and has always had a desire for serving God.  He first felt God’s call on his life to enter the ministry while at church camp the summer after his freshman year of high school.  Nathan began working as a student youth leader in his church and he became very involved in Young Life and camping ministry here in Ohio.

Nathan is currently 21 years old and just finishing up his junior year at Judson College where he is studying Youth Ministry & Adolescent Studies.  Nathan has been very involved with ministry on campus while at Judson working with the Chapel Drama team as well as being a student leader on the Judson Student Organization as the co-chair of Campus Ministries.  He has also worked with a variety of local ministries in and around the Elgin area in his time there, including Young Life, a local Lutheran Church, and a charismatic African-American Baptist Church.

Nathan hopes to enroll in seminary after graduating from Judson in hopes of one day becoming a pastor.  Nathan loves drama and sports (he’s a HUGE Buckeye fan!) and he has a passion for ministering to youth.  He was also licensed by his home church in October 2004 as a pastor.
